In the design of each Makai Ukulele, we pay homage to San Francisco's pivotal role in introducing this uniquely-Hawaiian instrument to the world—from the 1915 World's Fair, to the cultural movements and music communities that call San Francisco "home." Makai Ukuleles capture not only the spirit of the instrument, but also the city whose legacy is forever intertwined.
